Hi everyone,
My daily driver for web browsing is Google Chrome and Choosy due to a workflow that I think is common, especially when I see colleagues at work. I have two sessions in Chrome, a personal and a work one, that allows me to check two Gmail inboxes at the same time. Many people do that, Safari doesn't support that, Firefox has tab containers for that but that implementation isn't great IMHO as when screensharing I want personal and work tabs to be in different windows for better privacy.
An issue that I had in the past is that the active window would be the one used when clicking on a link, e.g. I check my personal email in my personal session, see a message on Slack, click on that message, and then a work link is opening in my personal session. That's where Choosy comes in.
Choosy allows you to set up a very straightforward yet powerful automation, i.e. "When I open a link from this app, it should open in my Chrome work session" or "When I open a link to this website, it should open in my Chrome personal session". That combined with Chrome sessions is amazing (especially when setting a shortcut for switching between app windows in macOS).
Having sessions in Orion would be the feature that would make me switch default browsers. The Webkit based browser is great but the session-system in Chrome is just too important for my workflow and currently unique. The Choosy part would be great to have in a browser directly, especially for people who do not have a tool like Choosy, but not mandatory.
Thank you for your work!
