Vlad I’m not doing anything special….are you testing on an iPad?

    • Vlad replied to this.

Coolben Thanks, adding desktop tag to this caused confusion.

Have you changed the user agent in Orion iOS?

Vlad i have it set to:
        Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 13_1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/108.0.5359.124 Safari/537.36

When opening it shows a different view than the normal desktop view if opening with Orion UA. I tried it and tried sheets and got same issue.

          • Vlad replied to this.

Coolben I suggest you post exact steps to reproduce the issue from a clean Orion install as the original post does not contain all information.

Vlad there are no steps…just go to a spreadsheet on google or visit sheets.google.com on an iPad and it wont work.

                Coolben Can you clarify this

                i have it set to:
                Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 13_1) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/108.0.5359.124 Safari/537.36

When I say steps to reproduce I mean from a clean install of Orion on iPad what steps to take to reproduce this error?

Vlad before i go through all that hassel are you saying you are testing on an ipad os 16.2 and using stage manager and not seeing the same issues?

Coolben i'm about to give up. Final notes, your value over brave and various mature 3rd party browswers is the potential to use chrome plugins once you get things stable. It appears you don't have an iPad with stage manager to test with at home, I suggest getting one! They have come way down in price, woot had a used ipad pro m1 for 600 bucks, the new ipad air m1's can do stage manager on a 2nd screen, and USB-C screens have come way down on price. People will try to do desktop replacements as a result, and your browser has the potetial to fill that gap as nobody else seems to be doing it. Good luck on your endevor!

                    • Vlad replied to this.

Coolben Our value over Brave is primarly better speed, battery life and of course privacy (namely zero telemetry).

The issue you have is mostly caused by untypical configuration, which is why I asked you to verify with a clear install. We do not have time to go deeper into invetigating every single issue as there are over 1,500 open issues on this site and we are a small team. Thanks for understanding.

                        mostly caused by untypical configuration

Like i said, iPad Pro or ipad air, or any ipad that is now capable of doing real work with external monitor thanks to stage manager, makes the need for a browser that can do chrome plugins much more valuable...I don't think you get that opportunity if you are calling this an "untypical" configuration. You will get many more people caring about your browser if you pay attention to the value of what the release of stage manager means to your browser...but it seems you are calling atypical and not even testing.

The ipad i have is 2 weeks old, but I'm not going to delete and re-install everything if you aren't even testing.

                        • Vlad replied to this.

Coolben The ask is just to reinstall Orion and run it with default configuration. When I said untypical configuration, I meant of the Orion settings (to be more precise non-default settings/extensions etc).
