I'd say this is a very needed fix
Select multiple tabs for bulk ops (horizontal and vertical)
I've been trying Orion for the past couple of weeks as a switch from Arc and it's almost perfect... but I think this is going to be a blocker for me actually switching
It makes tab tidying so unwieldy in comparison, even without the Tidy feature.
I'm so sad to see this was moved to under review from planned. This is also still the big blocker for me being able to switch to this otherwise extraordinary browser. Is there any design or technical work we users can do? Or is there some other way we can help facilitate this feature?
To other users: i've donated money and called out this feature as most important to me. If you also love Orion and want this feature, you can do the same (though of course only Vlad and team know the best way to prioritize holistically)
CitizenEldon Thank you for your support. At this moment we are focusing on fixing bugs and inmproving stability and this feature is likely to add more complexity. So we will push it a bit out.

I always encourage stabilty over features. But the need for this is really a no-brainer and deserves investing on it. Several of us are so used to this that it looks like a bug not having it, rather than a feature.
The problem even affects the use of other Orion's present features: like having multiple saved windows - I use that a lot in Arc, but I'm stopped from moving to Orion (and then to use it regularly and become Premium) because I'm not (nobody is) going to spent so much time moving tabs one by one...
Currently it does not seem possible to select multiple tabs and then act on them such as clos, bookmark or move them to a different named window/profile. This means that if I want to merge two named windows I have to move tabs one by one, which becomes impractical if one has too many tabs open.
Selecting multiple tabs, using Cmd for sparse selections and Shift for continuous selections should be a feature.
In Safari it is possible to select individual tabs with Cmd held down, or select an entire range with the Shift key held down.
The same is possible in Arc, using the same keys.
Steps:
- Open vertical tabs
- Command+click a tab
Expected:
Selects the tab (e.g. highlight) but doesn't activate it
Actual:
Activates the tab

I would like to be able to multi-select tabs in the vertical tab side bar, so that they can be manipulated in bulk:
- Closing multiple tabs after selection
- Moving multiple tabs into a single position
- Moving multiple tabs to a new window
- Copying the urls of multiple tabs
In addition to command+click, selection like shift-command-up/down and shift-up/down should be supported. Behavior here should match lists like finder.
I have an unlisted chrome extension that does this, so happy to share that + advice on implementation, but manipulating tabs this way should be built-in-functionality.
Hey @Vlad made a quick demo of my tab organizer to show more of what I want. The key thing is matching finder's behavior around multiselection (most apps get this wrong, and it's frustrating). I've outlined the "rules" here: https://stackoverflow.com/a/62670884/418739. Happy to share my (buggy) tab manager repo too, if useful.
+1 in support of tab selection for vertical and horizontal tab layouts.
Having the ability to multi-select/ shift-select tabs then move them to new windows or existing windows was an action I used daily within Safari. I've since moved to Orion RC as my daily driver but this would make tab multi-tasking much smoother.
Here's an example of the feature working in Safari:
Turns out my tab organizer can work in orion now! There's some bugs to flesh out, but if/when I get those done I'll share a link.
Probably the main reason Iām not using Orion, tbh.
I think it would be nice to add a copy all tabs feature. Perhaps to select all/ multiple tabs with CMD+Click or Shift+Click. This will make it easier to transfer multiple tabs from one window to another, or from incognito to regular and the converse. Low priority since I don't think it'd be used much, but good QOL feature

How many engineering ours would tab shift-clicking take? Safari has this and it threw me off.
I can possibly support funding some eng hours towards implementing this.
I started using Orion today and love it so far! I'm even starting to migrate my bookmarks and tabs step-by-step. Stumbled upon this missing feature though and would be highly requesting it as well, as I use this daily in my workflow. Apparently Safari uses it now as well, and the Sidebery extension for Firefox has this feature too.
I love how Orion made vertical tabs a default option in their browser, so I'd love to keep using it instead of installing an extension just for this feature.
ability to select more than one tab when performing operations on tabs such a moving and deleting. Safari already implements this and there is a very standard UX for multi selection in iOS.
closing and moving multiple tabs is fast and efficient, and it is also expected behaviour from a modern mobile browser. attached image shows the experience on Safari
