Just to clarify this bug report: this only happens when Settings > Appearance > Tab View Style > Sidebar, is enabled.
If we follow the steps given by uunn, you start with 1 private start page and then New Private Tab, this problem is consistent.
If Private tabs >= 2 already open, then open a New Private Tab, I wasn't able to reproduce the glitch:
