Tried a new/clean profile — still same behavior.

    a month later

Same issue on update to latest build (Version 0.99.123-beta (WebKit 615.1.16.1)). Following install, reopened tabs have same blank page no matter what I open, with same behaviour for any new profiles created.

Also - not sure if others have same - but cmd actions no longer function with Orion i.e. any new (blank) tabs I open do not respond to cmd-W and app itself doesn't respond to cmd-Q.

Marmaduke please try "Empty cache" from "Develop" menu. and let us know if issue still persist.

Also what happen on creating new tab? like is that working for you?

Yeah, I just installed Orion for the first time right now and haven't been able to make any searches. Monterey on MBP 14 (M1 Pro).

        1. Installed.

        2. Tried to import everything from safari (all boxes checked).
2.1 Closed the Finder window where we get prompt for password db permissions and password import failed. oops. Everything else succeeded though.

        3. I try to make a search from search bar. (I might have noticed that CMD+L didn't work to select the address bar either here or after the attempted search).
Suggestions appear as I type; I press enter; the blue bar animation streaks across the search bar as if it made the search but favicon doesn't load and the tab remains on the Home page (90% opacity grey + Favorites + Suggestions).

        4. I also had issues with the CMD functions like Marmaduke.

I've tried "Empty Cache", "Reset Orion", reinstall, and the factory reset option in debug menu. I also tried deleting the Orion Application Support folder.

In the debug log, all I see is two occurrences of

JSAPI: Error: Error executing javascript (executeScript). (JavaScript execution returned a result of an unsupported type) = browser.windows.WINDOW_ID_CURRENT = 1

per time I focus Orion (eg. I click safari window and then click Orion window)

        EDIT to answer dino:

        • CMD+T does work for creating new tabs.
        • Also, the search bar resets to 'Search or Enter Website Name' after the "failed" search.

dkmar can you post a video please, to better understand this issue.

dkmar Have you set a default search engine?

quick recording of the basic issue

dino Issue still persists following "empty cache". New tab opens with cmd-T but still blank. Behaviour exactly the same as shown in dkmar video

I noticed from dkmar that we were both on Monterey on the same system (M1 Pro MBP 14). I've just updated to Ventura and installed the compatible version of Orion, which has resolved the issue for now - tabs open as expected with content displaying, and cmd inputs function as expected as well. So may be owrth a try but doesn't resolve the Monterey behaviour

Thanks, we got several reports of problems happening in Monterey with the last version.
