Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install the newest Orion version on iOS
  2. Set appearance to Classic in settings (address bar at the top)
  3. Attempt to use the browser
  4. The address bar is way too far up and is blocked by the iPhone notch and iOS top bar

Expected behavior:
Orion should leave room for the iOS top bar as was the case with previous releases

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion 1.2.2 (3) (WebKit 8614.3.7.0.6)
iOS 16.2
iPhone 12

    Upon further testing I managed to somehow fix it and now I am unable to reproduce it anymore. It is worth noting that the fix did require more than one complete restart of Orion and toggling multiple appearance settings while testing another bug.

          The initial picture had Focus Mode toggled off and I just managed to reproduce this issue and tested that toggling focus mode didn't really do anything (see video below). This doesn't seem to be related/limited to classic appearance at all. Instead has something to do with Orion simply ignoring borders after something happens.

          I am still trying to figure out a consistent way of reproducing the issue.

            Finally found a reliable way of reproducing this bug for both Classic and Ergonomic settings:

            In written form:

            1. Open a private tab
            2. Navigate to YouTube
            3. Open any video in full screen
            4. Exit full screen
            5. Classic appearance setting is now broken and the url bar is hidden behind the notch (for iPhone 12 but I'd imagine the issue is similar for other phones as well)
            6. With the ergonomic appearance setting, switch back to non-private tabs
            7. Go to for example Hacker News
            8. The top bar border is no longer respected, causing Orion to extend all the way to the top of the screen
