  • Tab text is blurry/fuzzy consistently on all but the original tab

  • BugsDesktopDone

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Orion
  • open several tabs
  • observe fuzzy rendering of title-text in newer tabs

Expected behavior:
Tab title-text should be crisp regardless of being the active tab. Switching tab to be the active tab does not seem to help.

Orion and macOS:
0.99.108.1-beta (WebKit 613.1.10) && 12.0.1 (21A559)

Other:
I'm on an ultra wide (3440x1440) non-retina display. Page text seems just fine, only tab-titles (hopefully the screenshot below illustrates well enough). Sometimes, the tabs seem to eventually render into sharper text (perhaps through active tab switching?), but it's not a consistent change.

lew changed the title to Tab text is blurry/fuzzy consistently on all but the original tab .

lew Hm I am not able to reproduce it (but I do not have as large screen right now). Can you post a higher resolution photo?

Hi, I can confirm this happens on my machine too. I have a 1366x768 non-retina display.

Orion (the second and the last tabs are slightly blurry compared to the others two):

ofwfwoo88 What are the exact steps to reproduce this? (syetm spec, macOS, etc..)

              Vlad I'm on Big Sur 11.6.7 and Orion 0.99.116-beta. As I said I have a non-retina 1366x768 display.

Not directly related, but tab icons are also rendered noticeably worse.

might need to double check this tho

I'm not sure if my issue is related but take a look:

i'm yet to nail down the exact scenario when the tab titles bloat out like that, but it seems to be related to moving the app to a wide monitor via a dock that requires displalink software to run.

EDIT: found the related issue and saw it's been fixed in the beta channel
