Fiko reader is one of the nicest reader view extensions. While I am able to install the extension, it does not work in Orion. Clicking the extension does not activate the extenstion to render the reader view for the page. I have configured the extension to allow on all websites.

    BO Perhaps you can highlight what makes it so much better than Orions native reader mode?

        Maybe a bit subjective but Fiko reading interface is cleaner and simpler than others plus it renders code blocks correctly compared to others. One of the leading reader Postlight does not render code blocks as code blocks. Other readers add a lot of cruft besides cleaning up the meat of the page.

        I am not affiliated or anything with Fiko but I encourage you to give it a try.

        I am happy to use any other if it has a good reading experience - choice of fonts, themes, export etc.

          BO Perhaps you can make a suggestion how to make orions'reader better for everyone instead?

          Give a few examples with urls where fiko does better, code block rendering does not sound like a big issue.

            Vlad Oh hang on .. i overlooked what you said. There is native reader in Orion? 😳 I did not know that. How do I activate it? Mean time, let me explore.

                Ahh ... the reader icon is on the left .. My muscle memory was looking for it to be on the right. I am glad reader view is built-in instead of relying on extension (even if it is Fiko 😛 ).

                Here are some features that will make the built-in reader awesome:

                • Themes: Light, Dark, Sepia etc
                • Choice of fonts. This is near and dear to me because my eyes can't read most default fonts. I use Charter or Iowan Style or other suite of fonts I cycle to calm my eyes. Also, I know some people use Dyslexic fonts. And others who are comfortable with monospace fonts.
                • Code blocks with syntax highlighting
                • Export to PDF

                  BO The first two options already exist. Click Aa icon on the right side of sidebar when reader mode is on.

                  fourth is also avaialble as you can print into pdf.

                  Third - demonstrate with a URl and screenshots the difference.
