Every citizen in Sweden uses an app called BankID (https://www.bankid.com/en/) to authorise themselves to various banks, government and other services. This app is a must to be able to do certain things on mobile phone. As of now, mobile version of Orion doesn't know how to deal when the site tries to open bankid:// which makes it impossible to access certain websites.

To test this, go to a website such as https://www.telenor.se/mitt-telenor/ and click on "BankID" --> "Öppna Mobilt BankID". Orion will try to look for an app for a second and then fail saying that it doesn't know how to deal with that URL.

    Any news on this? Orion is sadly pretty much unusable for me (and probably all Swedes) until BankID is working.

      Steps to reproduce:
      I assume this is not easy to reproduce for you but still wanted to share. In Sweden, we use a digital signature (Mobile Bank ID) to log in to many public and private services. One of them is the public healthcare system. Orion tries to initiate the launch of the Bank ID app but fails.

      Expected behavior:
      After choosing BankID as the login method and clicking Open BankID, the BankID app should launch in the background and initiate the authentication. If works perfectly fine on Safari on iOS.

      Orion, OS version; hardware type:
      Orion: 1.2 (4) (webkit 8614.2.9.0.10), iOS 16.1.1, iPhone 14 pro

        Have you tried disablign the content blocker in Orion?

            1. Install the BankID app (You don’t need an account)
            2. Visit demo.bankid.com/logintest
            3. Press Login Test > Start your BankID app

            Note: This only works in Safari with content blockers disabled. Even with content blockers disabled in Orion, the app is not launched.

                        Some sites work, some don't, literal dealbreaker for Swedish users unfortunately.

                          This is still a dealbreaker that needs to be fixed. Cant use Orion for much longer like this.

                            Yeah I've changed default browser already. Hoping they wake up at some point though!

                            @developers I don't think you understand just how deeply necessary BankID is in being a Swedish citizen.
