This is more of a question than a feature.

I have a window with one tab and another window (say window 2), how do I move the tab on the first window onto window 2? so the windows are combined?

I've only been able to combine the windows by creating a new tab in the first window and then dragging the tab I want back, then deleting the window left behind. (Shown towards end of first video). So is there a way to combine the windows in the case of only having one tab (so will not have to create a second tab)?

T-0 You can make a suggestion how it is supposed to work, using other browsers as an example.

In Orion you can always right click a tab and select Move tab.

Since we now have the 'windows popup' (see screenshot), I think the best way to merge windows is if you can drag & drop a window onto another window in the windows popup (now you can only change the order with drag & drop).

Yes please! Combine two windows, each with one tab open would be lovely. This would allow for greater customizability.

In Brave the tabs can merge if the two windows are close to each other.

Leirk You were dragging a tab in Brave, not window? You can also drag tabs between windows in Orion.

Vlad The Brave example is showing two windows open, each containing one tab. I'm able to drag tabs between windows in Orion, as you mentioned, but the problem arises when there is only one tab left in a window.

There doesn't seem to be a clear cut way to merge the two windows/tabs fully in this example, as the creator of this post mentions and I emphasize in the video.

I believe this video asserts the subject at hand better: How does one —drag— the last tab from the window in the foreground to the window in the background? The blue highlight that appears when successfully draging the first tab [1] to the background window, doesn't appear when trying to drag the last tab [2] (The foreground window should then disappear when the last tab merges with the background window, because zero tabs left).

Leirk Thank you for clarification. How is this handled in Safari?

Vlad I totally forgot about Safari! It behaves similar to Brave tab bar UI, in that each tab in a window (even it it's only one tab available) is visible to the user as distinct tab—below the search bar. Compared to Orion, if one tab is open in a window, there's only a search bar visible.

Leirk This is probably because you have View -> Hide Tab Bar in Orion enabled and not in Safari?

Vlad My oh my! That's indeed correct 🤭. Orion came with Hide Tab Bar on when I downloaded it. Sorry for taking your time.

                    Problem solved. Cheers!

Leirk Hm doesn't Safari come with it on too? Remember changing it?
