  • Toolbar bleeds in with web content after a few minutes of use

  • BugsDesktopDone

Steps to reproduce:

After using the browser for a while, switching between applications, etc, the toolbar suddenly blends with the rest of the site and it seems the vertical top limit of the site content is the same as the tip of the window, instead of the bottom of the toolbar.
Making both toolbar and and website to be overlayed on each other (see image)
Turning on compatibility mode, toggling "compact size" for toolbar etc doesn't
Expected behavior:
This shouldn't be happening. The only way I am able to reset this is by restarting the browser but after a while, the issue returns.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.120.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)
MacBook M1 Pro (macOS Monterey 12.6 build 21G115)

benderrod this is pretty unique and i've neever seen this happen. could it be influence of some external app you have installed?

I think that's posisble but I have not been able to pint point what it could be.

I'll see about quitting some individual apps and seeing what I get.

PS - I just noticed triggering the "Tab Overview" also fixes this, without having to quit the app 🤔

There appears to be something funky after doing the "zoom out" gesture to show the "Tab Overview", particularly on this feedback site.

Note the scrollbar position to the right of the screenshot below, showing this is the top of the page. This appears like it could be linked, but doesn't explain the window UI being overwritten.

Ok I've noticed this seems to happen consistently after sleeping and waking up system.
It happens on all (named) windows -- I tend to have 4+ windows running. I still haven't pinned it down to any specific other app yet.

        Steps to reproduce:
I can't reproduce this issue. But I found this issue when I used Orion long time.
FYI, I used Orion often full screen and splitted view.

        Expected behavior:
Web Content Area should not overlay the title bar.

        Orion, OS version; hardware type:
        Version 0.99.120.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)
        MacBook Pro(14", 2021) / M1 Pro (10/16) / 32GB RAM

        Image/Video:

Merged 1 post from Web Content Area is overlayed with Title Bar.

Looks like it is a thing, but we need steps to reproduce.

              Steps to reproduce:
Resuming from standby makes the toolbar transparent and the webpage ignores it.

              Expected behavior:
For the toolbar to be distinct, instead of becoming ignored by the viewport/chrome of the website.

              Orion, OS version; hardware type:

I have experienced this issue on Version 0.99.123.3.1-rc (WebKit 615.1.16.1), MacBook Pro (macOS Ventura 13.2.1 build 22D68), 16" M2 Pro

                      5 days later

I finally found reproduction steps that work reliably for me every time:

                      1. Enter tab overview mode (View -> Show Tab Overview, or pinch to zoom out on a trackpad from a fully zoomed out state)
                      2. If you have enough tabs open, scroll down so that the window's toolbar/titlebar changes state into the semi-transparent state (tab preview cells are hidden underneath it). If you only have a few tabs open, you'll need to vertically shrink your window to accomplish this.
                      3. Tap on a tab to open it.
                      4. Change the size of your window.

Expected result: Window size changes, titlebar does not go fully transparent.
Actual result: Window size changes, titlebar does go fully transparent.

Note: to resolve this mode, you can either toggle focus mode, or go back into tab overview mode temporarily and select a tab.

Now that I can reproduce it reliably, pardon me while I go fix this adorable but annoying bug 🦖

While we're waiting for a fix, it seems that a quick workaround is enabling and then disabling Focus mode.
