IPad tab bar - close without opening tab

Mousing over the left portion of an inactive tab does not show a button to close it. You must click to open the tab and then you can close it. Two screenshots comparing Orion with Safari. iPadOS removes the cursor in screenshots, but my cursor is at the red circle in both.

Vlad added the Mobile Done tags and removed the Desktop tag Oct 23, 2022.
