Currently, you have to left click and hold the back/forward buttons in order to see the history for that tab:

This is consistent with how Safari does it. Chrome and Firefox, however, also support a far better implementation of this by allowing the user to right click to open this menu. While this functionality may seem very minor, it serves multiple purposes:

  • it is more intuitive for users migrating from Firefox or Chromium forks
  • right clicking is instant and allows you to view the list without having to hold down a mouse button
  • accessibility improvement for users who might struggle with holding down a mouse button while moving it.
  • The menu opened by right clicking also doesn't instantly close if the mouse cursor is accidentally moved away from the history list
