On Brave for iOS, we can easily open links into different apps either automatically or with verification. Same with Firefox and DuckDuckGo. The open links in app feature on Orion is cool but it’s very buggy even in comparison to these apps where you can just verify if you want to open the link into whatever app is being called. For another example where we can see the verification.

It’s much more fluid than hoping the link to a certain app works, because on Brave it’ll try to go for the default app by default. Since Orion is already a step ahead with opening links in alternative clients for apps - it’d work best to implement an option for apps that aren’t supported to verify this way.

Crafty3155 It is not clear what is buggy in orion (steps to reproduce the bug?) and what exactly the ask is. Orion should have superior link opening handling that any of the other browsers so you may want to add specific and concrete details about what appears to bebroken and what you would change.

Vlad my bad, the worst offender on this for me is the base youtube app. I’ve had it with reddit too but with the default youtube app it 50/50 launches in the app or opens the site and after a slight delay it goes into mostly when i toggle it off or on.

With Slide for Reddit it wouldn’t open reddit links sometimes without a restart to my phone.

Main thing I’d wish to see would just be that confirmation splash screen asking to open links in certain apps. Beyond that, being able to open links calling for any app that isn’t on the toggle list should just automatically show that splash screen like Brave does. Brave automatically opens Youtube but asks for confirmation on apps like the app store or crypto apps as mentioned by some friends who are into that.

Can you express this as a concrete and clear ask (to me it is not clear what you are asking for)

@Vlad Orion has an “Open links in apps” feature, this issue can be marked as done.
