When on an unsupported page, pressing the Reader button will make an annoying popup. I would much prefer a hover balloon next to it or a message temporarily replacing the text in the address bar. Thank you!

I was thinking something like this, at least when interacting with the button directly. Less obtrusive and can be dismissed by clicking anywhere else, unlike the current popup that dominates the screen and requires direct interaction.

I do acknowledge that this probably breaks some interface guideline from apple or isn't the macOS way to do things, but its a lot more pleasant imo.
Thank you for the great app!

What a great suggestion and implementation! Noticed one minor thing that should be ironed out:

    1. Navigate to a site that doesn't support reader mode, e.g. old.reddit.com
    2. Click the Show Reader Mode button
    3. Enjoy the much less intrusive notification that the reader mode isn't supported on this page
    4. Notice that the reader mode icon still turns blue despite the reader mode not being supported

It is worth noting that this is present in the beta as well but now is as good a time as any to fix it.

laiz It turns blue because you enabled reader mode for that entire site, and there could be other pages on the site where reader mode will work.
