This is the main dealbreaker for me at the moment.

I was able to log in to 1Password, and it shows the login email when clicked on the email field of a website. But clicking it doesn't get filled. And then by clicking the 1P icon on the toolbar, the Autofill button doesn't work. Even the copy button doesn't work. So I have to use system 1P every time I need to log in.

On a similar note, Grammarly is also not working properly here. Shows logged out even when you're logged in.

+1 to not showing these on popular extensions until they start working.

Ok we will have another look.

Note that 1password 8 has global autofill and does not require extension. (cmd \ )

I have similar , may not be the same issue. I cannot get the 1password dialog box to open for new tab in Orion. The dialog box flashed and gone away. I cannot load 1password from the log in field. The only thing I can do is to manually copy from 1password app. Quite annoying

I am running Version 0.99.114-beta (WebKit 614.1.12) of Orion and 80800021 beta for 1Password for Mac 8.8.0

I have these settings for Orion, not sure there is anything I need to change

fuzzygel Can you please share some example login urls, where we can test this behaviour?

Using Orion 0.99.114 and 1Password 8.7.0 with the firefox extension:

          • twitter.com does not work well -- cmd + \ does not bring up any prompt from extension. Clicking in user/password fields brings up a prompt to fill, but it never populates the fields. Opening extension is slow.
          • https://browser.kagi.com/updates/changelog-0.99.114.html -- extension opens quickly. esc key does not work until password is entered. cmd + \ brings up universal menu.
          • https://orionfeedback.org -- cmd + \ does not bring up any 1password prompt. Autofill suggestion works properly and populates fields. Clicking extension icon opens menu quickly.

Vlad It's true that version 8 doesn't require an extension to autofill, but what it can't do is create and save passwords, and it can't update login information. For that, a browser extension is still needed.

So it would be great if you all kept working on getting the extension fully operational!

Edit 6/9/22: There are actually a lot of things that only an extension can do, even with version 8. These include:

            • Generating passwords
            • Saving login information
            • Updating login information
            • Filling personal information ("Identities")
            • Filling Credit Card payment forms
            • Privacy.com integration
            • Fastmail integration

              Using Orion 0.99.114.1 and 1Password 8.7.0:

              • With the Firefox extension, I see a 1Password icon with the lock symbol in the toolbar. When I click on it, a dialog drops down that's blank except for a spinning progress indicator, which never stops.

              • With the Chrome extension, things work better. However:

                (1) On each new page, when the icon in the toolbar is clicked, it takes about four seconds for the suggestions to load. (On Safari, it takes a bit less than a second.) In the meantime, it says "No suggestions found for [whatever the website is]."

                (2) The toolbar icon always has the locked symbol, whether it is locked or not.

                (3) Sometimes, the dialog that drops down when clicking the toolbar icon will require you to enter your password, even though it ought to still be unlocked. (Sometimes when this happens, the dialog will first show a spinning progress indicator for about three to seven seconds.)

              • Installing the extension using the "Popular Extensions" option doesn't work at all: a tab immediately opens with a 1Password-branded message stating "Something went wrong" and "An unknown database error occurred. Contact 1Password Support for help."

I'm suprised to see that some of you are able to do something with the 1Pasword plugin. Also the experiences seem to be quite varied.

After I've installed it from the Chrome store and click the extension icon I'm send to a login page.
                I'm able to login to my.1password.eu account (I have a 1P subscription).
There, I can see all my passwords in the browser.
The extension doesn't unlock though, and when I close the tab and press the extension icon again I'm send back to the login page (being logged out again).
I've activated 'Compatibility mode' but it doesn't make a difference.

Hopefully this plugin will become supported soon. It's of great value and will complement Orion a lot.

We get various reports about 1password working or not.

Can anyone ( @cob-nobbler ?) share their findings with latest Orion beta (115.3).

                  Are we there yet?

                    @Vlad unfortunately not.

                    With 1Password for Mac 8.7.1, Version 0.99.115.3-beta (WebKit 614.1.12)

Using the latest Chrome extension, I was able to install it and login to 1Password.

                    However

                    • Clicking the toolbar icon it takes approx 20secs to load 1Password interface (so you can unlock it or see the results).
                    • Clicking the "Autofill" button from a toolbar window result doesn't work
                    • Autofill results show correctly in login form input but clicking the login item does nothing.

I would love to figure out why you can log in, and I can't. When I log in to 1password.eu server, I get to the 1Password website with my vaults (so login works). When I open another tab and visit a website where I have to log in and try to use 1Password, I get kicked to the following page:

Even if I enter again my password, it doesn't stay logged in.
I'm on macOS 12.3.1 with Orion 115.3 beta.
I've installed the 1Password plugin from the Chrome webstore.
Curious to know if you read anything that's different from your situation.

                      Thanks, Jan

janpeeters Not sure what to add but it definitely logs in ok for me, it just takes ages to load initially. I'm going via the 1Password button on the browser toolbar?

It seems to randomly lock me out again (so I have to type my password again) in a very short time though.

Interestingly I was just trying it and although it just hangs when trying to choose or autofill a login item for a lot of sites, I was just trying macrumors.com forums and choosing a login or autofill'ing from the popup works correctly there every time.

Weird that it works for you and not for me. I even activated compatibility mode. Curious to hear what @Vlad thinks about this discrepancy.

                          • Vlad replied to this.

janpeeters I think that this just makes it more difficult for us to debug and deal with the issue. Nobody in the team is 1password user and we have been fighting an uphill battle with this since the beginning, made harder by the fact that some of the features depend on 1password supporting Orion..

                            https://1password.community/discussion/124112/support-for-orion-browser

What we lack is identiying, then clear description of the issue with steps to reproduce for issues that are in our court.

You've probably already researched this @Vlad, but it looks like for some plugins like 1Password and Raindrop Orion doesn't save the necessary data to pertain a logged in state. I'm no developer, so this is as far as I can think, but it's almost like an essential storage mechanism doesn't work or works differently than the plugins expect.

                              a month later

Ran into this issue today. It used to work, so something changed at some point, although I'm not sure when.

                                17 days later

The beta version of 1Password's Chrome and Firefox extensions (2.4.2 and 2.4.3 respectively) are working better for me than the current stable extension, but there's still some issues. Biometrics not working is one thing and depends on AgileBits whitelisting Orion, but the other issues (blank popup) and Chromium working fine (minus biometrics) make me think there's some extension API issues in Orion that might be worth another look by the team.

Things I can do that I couldn't do in the stable version:

                                • Log in to the extension (was hit or miss in stable)
                                • Autofill suggestions show up below form fields
                                • The extension popup menu shows up
                                • Save passwords

                                Issues:

                                • Two-factor auth cannot be filled from the autofill suggestions, you need to copy it directly from the extension toolbar popup or from the app

                                • Clicking the 1Password icon in a form field throws the "Collect Frame" promise warning noted below

                                • If app integration is turned on in settings, there's a 5 second delay before the popup shows up

                                • Sometimes the popup will just be blank, with no loading indicator, and the following warnings get logged to the console:

Turning off app integration in the 1Password extension settings and restarting Orion reduces the delay and gets rid of the browser verification error (of course).

                                • When the extension periodically locks (seems to ignore the 10 minutes setting), you'll need to enter your password. After unlocking the extension, I get a blank popup with no loading indicator regardless of the app integration setting. Going by the console log, it appears the extension unlocked successfully and loaded a page after 5 seconds, but the popup is blank.

Console from the web inspector in the popup:

When the blank popup after unlock issue happens, the only workaround is to restart Orion. Reloading or disabling/enabling the extension had no effect, the password field still appears to unlock the extension, followed by a blank page after unlock.

From my testing, it appears Chromium itself isn't whitelisted by 1Password either, since biometrics don't work. Using the extension results in no errors and everything works as it should, which is why I think there's an extension API issue happening.

I was getting somewhat excited when I read that @lkhrs got parts of the 1P extension working through the beta's.
But I'm sorry to report that in my situation: subscribed 1P user within the EU (so using there EU 1P server) can still not stay logged into the service. I can enter my credentials but after switching websites and clicking the 1P icon in the toolbar to get to the 1P popup to fill a login I get kicked back to the following page while I just logged in.

I tried it with both beta extensions, the one for Firefox and the one for Chrome. Both with same behaviour.
I'm curious if and when the 1P team will come around. I'm following the Orion thread in their community but after messages from @Vlad and me and a few bumps nothing happened there.

Maybe others can chime in with requests and comments:

Ah that might be a clue (also a non-US server). But sadly I have no idea why?
