Just like Safari, I would like to have shortcuts for Bookmarks.

Sorry, the screenshot broke. I edited the first post.

When you go in th menu to Bookmarks > Favorites, all the links have a shortcuts (folders are excluded). And in Safari Preferences under Tabs you can enable/disable switch tabs with CMD + #number. If you disable that, the shortcuts for bookmarks are reduced to CMD + #number instead of CMD + Option + #Number.

It's explained in more detail here: https://www.lifewire.com/keyboard-shortcuts-for-safari-bookmarks-and-tabs-toolbar-2259990

dagaloni The same option exists in Orion (when disabled it switches bookmarks). Is this what you are looking for?

        Hi Vlad,

Thanks for the explanation. That is what I'm looking for, however it doesn't work. I deselected "Use cmd1 to cmd 9 to switch tabs". My understanding is that when I hit cmd + 1 it should go to bookmark favorite 1. Nothing seems to happen.

And another point, this feature was very hard to discover. Maybe add a little text above the options in settings and maybe add, just like Safari, the shortcut alt + cmd + [number] when tab switching with cmd + [number] is turned on.

dagaloni Kagi has both "Bookmarks bar" and "Favorites" which are separate for more robustness and utility, unlike Safari. The shortcuts work for Bookmarks Bar items.

Adding opt cmd number to work when the option is selected - seems like a reasonalbe idea.

We decided to tie this option to switching tabs because it is arguably more used then for selecting bookmarks. We wanted people to discover they can switch tabs with shortcuts.

After you play with this all please feel free to suggest changes having in mind that things in Orion are not always meant to work exactly the same like in Safari (we try to make them better).

Ah great, I got it to work!

I understand. You achieved the goal that people can switch tabs with shortcuts. However, as far as I'm aware there is no visual hint (no shortcut-icons in the menu and no explanatory text) that you can use shortcuts to open bookmarks. I think this can be improved.

Thanks for your help! You can mark this thread as complete 😉

What kind of visual hint is there in Safari that if you disable the tab switch setting, it applies to bookmarks?

There isn't (which is a shame for Safari because it's really useful information), but that wasn't my point. My point was, how do I discover that Orion supports bookmark shortcuts? There's no hint, no text, no symbol that shows my that I can. Hence I posted this a feature request. As you can see in the screenshot, Safari has shortcut-icons after the bookmarks. I'm not seeing that in Orion. That would be nice. And as far as I'm aware, I can't use tab-switching and bookmark shortcuts together. Would be nice to use both.

What I think is an improvement for Orion is:

                1. Show shortcut-icon after the bookmarks in de menu (see screenshot in firstpost)
                2. Explain that if people disable tab-switching with shortcuts that those shortcuts will be used for navigating to bookmarks.

                  Got it!

                  Explain where?

OK so there are three things we should do:

                    1. When option is active, still allow switching to bookmarks bar bookmarks by using option cmd #
                    2. Show active shortcut in the bookmarks bar submenu
                    3. Add text below option "When this option is deselected the shortcut will be used to navigate to bookmarks in the Bookmarks Bar"
                      a year later

                      Vlad
These three things have been implemented.

However, when the option pictured in 3. is disabled, using option+shift+cmd+# always opens the desired bookmark in a new window instead of a new tab. So three down and one (hopefully) very minor adjustment to go.

                      No one is typing
