As you can see from the following two photos, Safari on the first has a visual indicator which contrasts the difference between the sidebar and the website content vertically which cuts through the toolbar itself whilst not choking it's ability to house additional buttons suited only for sidebar toolbars.

Orion on the other hand shadows the boring, dated Pre-Big Sur Safari 13 toolbar which does not have any visual indicators of separation of the bookmarks sidebar to the main web content.

Also, please make this work with the sidebar showing only on the start page feature. What you can do is concur the function which makes the animation show whenever you go back to the start page, as that is a critical feature that I miss so much in Safari 15…

Here is the sidebar with vertical tabs open. There is alot of room to place two toolbar buttons in there. Window groups, and miscellaneous buttons.

Fortrikka Safari does not have vertical tabs support. with vertical tabs users can reduce the width of sidebar to width much smaller than Safari which would make those icons jumping around. For that reason this is DONE now.

Vlad I don't think that it should be considered done because at no point do the toolbar buttons when the vertical tab is resized go into the sidebar. Safari although does not allow resizing the sidebar to smaller than that of two toolbar buttons which is undesirable.

Here is Safari's toolbar on the sidebar, which it contains the sidebar button and the tab group creation button. Arguably, the sidebar button of Orion and the window groups buttons can be placed here.
It should be marked as planned.

There wouldbe no place for buttons when sidebar is this wide. Buttons jumping left and right is just bad UX.

Vlad The buttons aren't also jumping left and right. In fact, with the separated toolbar the buttons are jumping left and right, but when they are included in the toolbar they will no longer jump. Here is an example.

In fact, Safari has buttons which are more stable than Orion browser's. The sidebar button remains completely still and in the same place after all the moving. The sidebar button in fact jumps erratically from the corner beside the window buttons to leaving a gigantic empty space when switching to vertical tab mode.

The buttons in Orion are completely all over the place.

Safari makes more sense. Sidebar button is still in the same location.

Fortrikka I would argue that buttons in Safari are all over the place. Orion keeps them consistent - in the toolbar where they belong.
