Steps to reproduce:

  • Go to YouTube, play video in full screen
  • Orion fullscreen player don't support any YouTube control and cc.

Orion:

Safari:

Expected behavior:

Fullscreen player should support website control, cc, etc.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:

  • iPad Orion 1.0.3 125
  • iPadOS 15.5

Image/Video:
<Copy/paste or drag and drop to upload images or videos (up to 20MB)>

I know this is considered a 'bug' in regards to not acting the same as Safari, but I can't think of a single time I would prefer to have a third party website take control of the video player and force me to use theirs, rather than the native player built in to the browser.

JunkBrunstoe it is not about different from safari, but more about losing function.

There is no cc/subtitle with native player. Also web player come with other control , for example in YouTube fullscreen you can have thumb up/down, stat for nerds, choose video quality, etc.

JSiu-Dev This is because Orion on iPad behaves like iOS as we do not have special iPad features yet. Full screen video on iPad should treat this as desktop site and we are treating as mobile.
