Speechify extension doesn't work

Steps to reproduce:

install https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/speechify-for-chrome/ljflmlehinmoeknoonhibbjpldiijjmm
click the extension icon from the top right
nothing happens

Expected behavior:
a pop-up like the screenshot attached should show up on the bottom right and able to play the content of the web page

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion: Version 0.99.115-beta (WebKit 614.1.12)
macOS: 12.3.1 (21E258)

I also need to use this extension. I am getting the popup shown above, then it's asks me to login.
I login to the Speechify site, but the logged in state does not carry over to the web page I need to use it on.

This extension is an important tool to assist in my accessibility issues.

Just discovered Orion today. Amazing. If Speechify could work, I would be estatic.

Extension installs fine, appears to work fine (interface is available, can click to read text), but the voice never actually starts reading.
