Steps to reproduce:

This happened after updating Orion to the first public beta and selecting to play the intro video. The intro video played off-screen, going into mission control revealed that the video was part of a larger invisible window twice the width of my desktop, the intro video was at the far left, and visible on the desktop was only the right part that didn't contain anything.

After the video played, a window opened on the right side, but the window size visible in mission control was still twice the width of my desktop (see attached screenshot). Closing the window and opening a new one got me a window with proper boundaries. I don't know how to re-watch the intro video so I couldn't reproduce it afterwards.

Expected behavior:

Intro video should play on-screen. Window boundary should be at actual window edges.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:

  • Orion 0.99.115-beta
  • macOS 12.4
  • MBP M1Pro 16''
  • Two external monitors set up side-by-side (I suppose this is relevant for the bug, seeing that it seemingly took the width of both monitors combined for the window size)

flyx Hmm really not clear what happend or how we can reproduce it. Are you able to reccorad a video of your screen after resetting Orion settings and trying animation again?

I did try to move ~/Library/Application Support/Orion somewhere else, also ~/Library/Preferences/com.kagi.kagimacOS.plist, but that didn't retrigger the intro video. Please advise how I can retrigger the video, else I can't reproduce.

ForumNinja404 changed the title to Intro video window is oversized .

          Steps to reproduce:

          1. Connect to a 1440p 27 inch monitor
          2. Install Orion
          3. Tell Orion to play the intro video
          4. The video will not be visible to the user, but audio will play
          5. Open Mission Control to see the video playing, but off the screen

          Expected behavior:
I expected Orion's intro video to play front and center where I can see it.

          Orion, OS version; hardware type:
          Version 0.99.118.1-beta (WebKit 614.1.20)
          MacOS 12.3
          M1 Pro

          Image/Video:
No screen recording as the intro video was too far off the screen.

Can confirm same issue on my system. Intro video appeared only when Mission Control was active on my LG 4K display in the center of an LG IPS235 on the left and built-in display on the right. (See System Preferences > Display screenshot at bottom.)
