Currently, the "Bookmarks->Hide Bookmarks" menu bar item toggles the showing of the bookmark side bar when a new tab was created. A while back it showed the vertical tab bar, not exactly sure what I did to change it to the bookmarks bar.
I think that an option in settings for showing the tabs/bookmarks bar would be useful, and by default it should be off (if the sidebar is hidden don't show it, if its shown don't change it)
This would avoid confusion and also provide a place to toggle the feature if any person wants it
