Steps to reproduce:
go to github.com without being signed in
the issue occurs regardless of compatibility mode or extensions installed

Expected behavior:
animation performance in Orion should be the same as in Safari

Orion/macOS:
Orion: 0.99.107-beta (WebKit 613.1.3)

        I can reproduce the issue on my 2012 MacBook Pro, also on version .107

          I'm now on the same machine running the Orion Catalina RC Version 0.99.107.15-beta (WebKit 613.1.8) (Nov 13 #rc-builds).

          The Github homepage still makes my laptop fans go crazy spin faster and starts out a bit stuttering but then smooths out.
          Performance is now similar to Safari (15.1) on my machine.

              I can see small stutter at start but this is in every browser I tested. I do not get fans though in Big Sur on a slow macbook air.

                Vlad As I said on Discord as well, I wouldn't worry about my fans. GitHub's homepage in Orion now has the same effect on fan noise as Chrome, Safari. I also edited my comment to say "spin faster" instead of "go crazy" to better describe it 😅.
                This is on an almost 10 year old MacBook Pro. I didn't mention fan noise as a complaint. As far as I'm concerned this issue is fixed in the last RC.
