Steps to reproduce:

  1. Go to bookmark editor
  2. Attempt to move any bookmark (website/folder) underneath an already made folder
  3. Notice how there's no way to make the bookmark stay under the folder and not go in it (same behavior occurs in Safari)

Expected behavior:
The bookmark has a way to go underneath the folder.

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Orion v0.99.113.2-beta (WebKit 613.1.12), MacOS 12.3, Macbook Air M1

It's definitely possible, but kinda hard to do. You have to move the bookmark out and in from the left.

Vlad Yep, it is. I think you can close this issue.

The bookmarks workflow seems very half-baked and needs more work. It should the same if not better than Safari.

Elaborate on how its different from safari, with videos of both for comparison

I have the same issue but dragging to the side doesn't fix it. I'm confused because in @eirk's video the drag & drop was working before he moved the bookmark to the side. In my case I can't drag & drop anywhere.

altano This is a Nightmare! Why can't move any of may bookmark?

eZolee Something is wrong in your setup as this normally works in Orion.

Vlad I just installed the browser today and am having the same issue. This is broken out of the box.

Could you share a video of the issue so it's easier to pinpoint what the bug is?

laiz I cannot. I uninstalled the browser a few hours ago so I'd have to start over.

The issue was that I could not drag a single bookmark, or a multiple selection, from within a subfolder to the main "Bookmarks Bar" folder, or anywhere else. The bookmarks I had were imported from another browser, so they were sitting in a subfolder.

And for what it's worth, Safari has changed their UI for this. They use the sidebar now. I couldn't get that working on Orion either.

Tried this again with the latest release from 2 days ago. Can no longer replicate the issue!
