Bug Report

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a new window (File > New Window or ⌘N).
  2. Notice that address bar is not in focus and we can’t immediately start typing.

Expected behavior:

  1. Address bar should be in focus so we can type immediately in a new window, just like we can in a new tab.

Orion/macOS:
Orion 0.99.107-beta (WebKit 613.1.3)
macOS Monterey 12.0.1

I cannot reproduce this on 107.7-beta 11.6 (M1). However I did find another bug with cmd-N on this site specifically (reported).

I've been able to reproduce this. Definitely doesn't occur every time, which is why I've refrained from reporting it. Most of the time it seems to focus the address bar, but on the odd occasion, it seems to not do so.

Vlad I think I figured it out. The address bar in a new window will only be in focus if it is already in focus in the last window. This does not affect new tabs (which always open with address bar in focus).

This seems to happen 100% of the time for me in Version 0.99.127.1-beta (WebKit 619.1.1).

Address bar gets focused in new tabs, but not in new windows. In settings, I have both new tabs and new windows set to open an empty page.

            No one is typing
