Steps to reproduce:

  • Open Orion app
  • tap "tabs" icon (menu slides from left)
  • select "Private"
  • tap "+"
  • enter address (page opens)
  • force-touch tap any link (context menu opens)
  • in context menu select "Open in New Private Tab" item

Now three types of beahviour happens (sorted from the most frequent to the least):

Type #1

  • New empty Private Tab opens (in background, without stealing focus)
  • Current tab show contents of selected link
    Type #2
  • Orion asks for FaceID as if opening New Private Tab and nothing more happens
    Type #3
  • selected link is opened in a New Private Tab that steals focus from the source Tab

Expected behavior:

  • selected link is opened in a New Private Tab in background without stealing focus and a small dialogue pops up (slides from bottom) saying the link has been successfully opened in backgroound; dialogue shows option to "Switch" to the newly opened Tab
