saul Bug Report Steps to reproduce: Open new tab Use the shortcut cmd + L to focus the address bar (it will unfocus) Expected behavior: The address bar should not un-focus, like on Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. Orion/macOS: macOS 12.0.1
Vlad saul We actually made this as a feature for people using keyboard shorctuts. CMD L toggles address bar active state and allows user to focus the web view.
saul Vlad Force of habit, really. In Chromium, pressing cmd + L again on the address bar (or down arrow works as well) brings up a list of recent searches, which is pretty useful
donn Vlad Sorry for replying to a two-year old message- pressing command + t then writing a search query is pretty much muscle memory for me at this point. Having to press command + t then command + l then type has a really steep learning curve; doubly so if you frequently switch between browsers as I do. But ultimately, it's your browser and your call.
gp I'm not sure I follow the issue here - I can definitely see a use-case or complaint if hitting Cmd + Tab doesn't let you immediately start typing a search query, but that seems to work fine for me. Am I missing the issue here?
gp Vlad Ah gotcha. I will step out of this one then - the current behaviour makes sense to me, and I had no clue about Cmd + L 🙂
Vlad donn Not sure what you refer to - after cmd t you should be in url bar and ready to type.. Can you show a vide of what happens?
Vlad donn The reason I misunderstood is you are using mobile version of Orion and the thread you replied to is tagged "Desktop" where such issue was fixed. Please open a new bug report with details.
