Steps to reproduce:

  1. Set tabs to horizontal
  2. Open new window (Should work 95% of the time. If not, try quickly opening new windows /opening new windows when in full screen)

Expected behavior:
Favourites and Frequently Visited load properly

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.111.2-rc (WebKit 614.1.2)
macOS Catalina 10.15.7
(So far, looks to be a Catalina/Mojave issue)

    Yes, resizing does temporarily fix the issue

    Vlad What is "New window opens with" set to?

    Both new window and and new tabs are set to open with "Start Page" [The issue occasionally occurs with tabs as well so included that option too]

          As you can see here, toggling full screen fixed the issue(for that window alone)
          Similarly, resizing also fixes the issue for that particular tab

                This happened once in a new tab in an existing window, but I can't reproduce that now; I poked at it by opening the sidebar and that brought the Start Page contents up. This also works in new windows, but the next window will still have a grey background. About to test quitting and re-opening…

                        I experience the same problem. Same OS (Catalina 10.15.7) and JavaScript and cookies disabled by default. The only difference is the version, Version 0.99.112-beta (WebKit 614.1.1)

                        The reproduction path for me is that it always happens when I open a new window that has not been resized. As soon as it has been resized the Start Page will work (also in new tabs).

                        I've made a screen capture that shows the issue:

                          6 months later
                          Merged 5 posts from Start page shows up blank in new window.
                            a month later
                            No one is typing
