Links at the end of page in bottom-left position can't be opened.

Steps to reproduce:

Go to this website: http://www.fiftythree.org/etherkiller/.
Read the interesting content (optional)
Scroll down to end of page.
At the end of page there is a link to access home page. Try to click and open it.

Expected behavior:
Link should open and url preview shouldn't block it.

Looks like Safari does not show status bar in that place.

Yes, safari switches the side where status bar is shown when the mouse hovers near the bottom edges. Firefox has a similar behaviour too.

I can also reproduce this by attempting to click the footer buttons in the bottom left of my site (https://kinopio.club). These aren't a href links, they're buttons that do a thing with js when clicked

Interestingly, opening the developer tools (e.g. by inspecting a page element) fixes it for that session. If you close the dev tools, bottom right footer clicks also still work in that session.
