Steps to reproduce:

  • Install the Sponsorblock extension
  • Browse a website with an embedded YouTube video
  • The Sponsorblock icon is not present on the window

Expected behavior:
The Sponsorblock icon should show up in the video window, same as it currently works on other browsers - on the video I recorded the behaviour on Safari, but on Chrome and Firefox works in the same way

Orion, OS version; hardware type:
Version 0.99.110.1-rc (WebKit 613.1.12) - but it also happened in previous versions
macOS 12.1
MacBook Pro M1 Pro

One theory here might be that Sponsorblock isn't "getting" to run, since the main browser window isn't on YouTube.com. Can reproduce thism, and confirm it works in Firefox via embeds for me as well.

I tried manually giving the above site permission to run Sponsorblock, but it doesn't appear to attempt to invoke Sponsorblock. I suspect this might be related to per-site extension permissions or "triggers" that can invoke a plugin perhaps not considering embedded content origin, and only considering window origin.

gp Orion does not prevent it to run artificially, so the extension invoking is on the extension itself. Having said that, not sure what the issue here is.
