Lost open tabs

I created new private window,
then closed it.
My primary session window also closed and all open tabs lost. Reopen last window opened a blank new window.

Open tabs are preserved unless explicitly closed with confirmation. Closed window can be restored with all tabs included.

Description

When I close Orion window and reopen it, Orion doesn't reopen the last tabs. Setting "Orion opens with:" set to "All windows from the last session". Usually can reopen all again with Cmd+Shift+T "Reopen Last Closed Tabs" but not always, so sometimes tabs are lost.

Reproduction:

Open some tabs
Close the window with the red left top button, or with "Close Window"
Orion is still active, no matter if it was the last opened window, as indicated by the dot in the dock.
Click on Orion in Dock, Orion opens a new empty window without any tabs.

Expected behavior:

When I close the window and reopen Orion, all tabs from last session should reopen again.

What works through a different way:

When I quit Orion completely, with right-click and then Quit. Then after reopening Orion, all tabs are reopened.

Hi @Dighdhdhfd Can you tell us how you closed that private window? Closing a private window should never close other windows of Orion, so if that's happening it is definitely a bug. However, we have tried to reproduce this but have not been able to.

If you are able to consistently reproduce this, please let us know a series of steps which causes this bug. A screen recording of this happening in action would be even more useful.

This is expected and correct behavior. The Orion opens with: setting only applies to when Orion is quit and reopened (this helps to recover the last session when an unexpected quit happens, i.e. a crash, or during system shutdown). When a window is explicitly closed by a user, it is a signal that the user is done with that window and wants to close the tabs in it. So reopening the window with the tabs of the last session doesn't really make sense there.

However you also mention

If you are able to share more details about cases where you are not able to reopen last closed tabs, we'd like to get to the bottom of it. Ideally you should be able to restore the tabs and windows that you closed by Cmd + Shift + T. Please share more details about the cases where this doesn't work.
