Just updated to Orion for iOS 1.5.0 (5) (WebKit 8621.6.1.10.3). Now, links no longer give any visual indication they've been tapped – they just silently open in a new tab in the background. In this video, I tap the link three times:
I should add, this open-in-background by default is new. Before this update, the way to open a link in a new tab was tap and hold, then select open-in-new-tab. Either way, the link should show it's been tapped, and that's not happening.
If a link's going to be opened in a background tab, there's supposed to be a visual indication that the link has been tapped. Here's what happens in Safari; even though the link opens in the foreground, before that happens the link blinks – "I've been tapped" – just as used to happen in Orion:
