Being able to drag tabs upwards to pin them and also have essential tabs / favorites embedded into the vertical sidebar. Instead of only showing the favicon, the pinned tabs could retain their titles and be shown in a list.
This feature could be a more flexible or intuitive way of organizing frequently used tabs. Instead of relying on the traditional "pin tab" method -> favicons shows above horizontally, users could drag a tab upward into a dedicated pinned area at the top of the vertical tab bar. I often keep a small set of tabs open throughout the day such as email, drive, streaming services, team chat web apps, etc. Being able to see the titles of the pinned tabs could be beneficial and also being able to rename the pinned tabs. This would create a clear distinction between persistent tab group / workspace tabs and temporary browsing tabs. An example of an application that already implemented this is the Zen browser (Also Arc and Ora) where spaces and pinned tabs address the need in separating important content from temporary browsing sessions.
