YouTube ads can't be blocked on macOS 14

Ads can't be blocked when watching videos. It only happens on macOS 14 while blocking works well on iOS 26 and iPadOS 26.

I have no extensions installed. The content blocker has already been updated to the latest (24 May 2026).

I expected there are no ads in the website, and no ads played before playing the videos I want.

Version 1.0.7 (146), WebKit 625.1.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.7

Could you check whether YouTube scriptlets are enabled in your content blocker settings:

That list is off by default so I'm hoping the fix is simple in this case.

I turn it on now and the ads in the video no longer show. Thanks for your help!

But is it possible to remove the sponsors on the other pages of the website? I tried erase elements but it could still happen when searching for other contents.

I am able to reproduce those not being blocked by default. The team will look into this.

In the meantime, the following custom filter should remove them:
youtube.com##ytd-ad-slot-renderer,ytd-in-feed-ad-layout-renderer

Add this to your Orion settings → Privacy → Manage Filter Lists… → Custom Filters

It's weird that I can't paste anything into the box of custom filters.
