Disable thumbnail autoplay on Youtube

Youtube annoyingly plays a video within the thumbnail area if the cursor goes over the thumbnail. This is annoying. Can Orion be set to just show a static thumbnail? I am sure it is taking resources and quite possibly interpreting a mouseover as a click leading to all sorts of junk "recommendations."

It's already possible to disable it natively in YouTube. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner, then Settings -> Playback and Performance, and finally turn off Video previews.

If you do not want to login to YouTube, then you can use this userscript.
