When using Vertical Tabs with the Auto-Hide Sidebar enabled, opening a link on a website that opens links as new tabs or using "Open in New Tab" creates a new tab nested under the current (parent) tab.The parent tab (would be search results) is now in a collapsed state, the newly opened child tab is not visible in the sidebar -- and critically, the active tab indicator is not shown, making it impossible to tell which tab you are currently on.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Enable Vertical Tabs in the sidebar.
- Enable Auto-Hide Sidebar.
- Search any term like (Nelson Mandela) (I'm using Kagi Search).
- Open any webpage from the results.
- Move the pointer to the left side of the browser to activate the sidebar.
- Observe that current tab is collapsed under nested results, without visible indicator which tab is the cative one.
Expected Behaviour:
The newly active opened tab should be visible expanded nested tab list in the sidebar, either by automatically expanding the parent tab, highlighting the top collapsed one or by opening at the top level.
The currently active tab should always be visually highlighted, regardless of whether it is nested or collapsed.
Actual Behaviour:
The newly opened tab is nested under the parent and remains hidden because the parent is collapsed.
No tab in the sidebar appears highlighted, making it impossible to identify the active tab at a glance, which is especially problematic with multiple tabs open.
