Outlook M365 popup window opens inbox instead of mail

When I am using Outlook (M365) and double click an e-mail in my inbox, a popup window opens, but shows the inbox instead of the specific mail.

I have tried:

Compatibility mode (doesn't help)
Testing in a new empty profile (doesn't help)
Safari (it works as expected)

Sometimes when I refresh the whole Outlook page, it works with the first attempt, but if I try it again with the same or a different e-mail it doesn't work and just shows the inbox in the popup window. Unfortunately not always. It's not clear to me why it sometimes works (once after refresh) and most of the times doesn't.

Not sure how to go back in time, but from what I remember I didn't had this issue with Orion 1.0.4.

When I normally double click an e-mail, it should open the popup window with that specific e-mail.

This is not happening with me. I am trying to reproduce it in normal (non-compatibility) mode.

Just to be sure, you are using M365 Outlook (outlook.cloud.microsoft)?

If so, I am clueless. It was working before (older Orion version). Not sure what to do (besides what I already tried).

Ok, well that URL redirects to outlook.cloud.microsoft automatically in my case. Weird that it's working for you, but not for me. I have no idea how to fix this. It is really annoying.

@dino Sorry, I don't know who else to tag.... It seems I am the only one reporting this, but I have tested this on 2 different Mac's, different profiles (I don't sync with iCloud), it doesn't matter, it is consistently broken. Sometimes when I clear cookies and storage for the site, it works once, but the next one is already broken again. I am certain that Orion 1.0.4 didn't had this issue. No idea why I am the only one reporting this. If you have any ideas I can try, let me know.

japser can you please try with RC version (145.2) if that works for you, just to ensure if that's related to WebKit version or something else, as production version (145) still uses older WebKit.

dino Ok, so I tried the new RC Version 1.0.6 (145.2-rc), WebKit 625.1.8. Still same problem. Sometimes (not always) after a page refresh or it works once, but then when I want to open the next mail, I get the Inbox again. Same is with the current stable release. I did notice improvements on the Bitwarden part 🎉

Unfortunately this issue still exists in the latest Version 1.0.8 (147.3-rc), WebKit 625.1.8 🙁

@dino Can I help in providing any extra info? Not sure what/how? This is currently a bug which forces me to use a different browser. Luckily Safari works fine, but I would like to use one browser instead of 2.

I just did a short test (not on my daily work machine, because this hasn't got the RC version) with the latest RC (Version 1.1.3 (152.1-rc), WebKit 625.1.8). And it worked everytime now! I think it's fixed! Thanks! Now up to the main release soon 🙂
