Reader menu will not stay open on iPadOS 26

I'm using an iPad Pro M4 12.9 inch on iOS 26.3.1. Latest version of Orion. After I visit a website, if I press the reader "button" in the left hand side of the URL box, it will open and close immediately. This doesn't happen on every website, but it seems to happen on a lot of them. It does NOT occur on my iPhone. I've tried desktop and mobile mode, turning off all extensions, turning off ad blocking, but it doesn't seem to help. Even if I kill the Orion app, this problem will often persist. If I clear ALL my cookies and history, this issue is temporarily fixed. However, it will reoccur after some period of browsing multiple websites and using multiple tabs. Thx!

I've been experiencing it for a few months now, so I thought I would report it. I made a screen video showing what happens when I do this.

I expect the "reader" menu to stay open so I can access the various features in that menu.

I have the same issue. Also only on iPadOS 26. On iOS26 in my iPhone works fine.

Did you try to reinstall the browser? This could fix it eventually. I had a similar issue.

On main screen hamburger menu in address bar won’t hold. It rolls down & rolls right back up. Very consistent after a few minutes of browsing. iPad os. Latest updates all around.

THatbthe menu would roll down & hold so I could select an item. No extensions installed.

jeanetienne no, just the regular update. Don’t have time to fool with betas. I should have said that this feature works at first use of Orion after a reboot, but some time after that it wigs out & won’t hold the menu open. Website doesn’t matter. I don’t use the feature that often, so I can’t be more specific. Sri. Tnx for looking into it.

I've noticed that I can temporarily fix this hamburger menu issue by switching to another open tab or opening a new tab. When I switch back to the affected tab, the hamburger menu will function normally. However, the problem of the menu opening and closing will reoccur in the other tabs after some web browsing. Same fix can be reapplied.

I have this as well, but it might not be Orion specific or it might be some underlying code Apple changed with the update. I also have a very similar bug in Firefox. It seems like certain websites will cause the menu (Orion) and make the Find on Page text input (Firefox) immediately close. it also seems inconsistent when a site will (sometimes it won't), but when the bug is triggered I get both the Firefox and Orion bugs.

Tried to replicate it in Safari, but couldn't find "find in page" without switching to stage manager mode. "Find in page" stayed open after this, but Orion still had issues with the menu.

Hi all, I was never able to reproduce this issue, but I still worked on a fix.
As a result I can't confirm the fix fully resolves this issue, so I count on you to tell me if this issue still happens after we ship the next release.

Look out for version 1.4.18, should be out some time next month.
