Youtube doesn't show video comments or descriptions

No matter the video, Youtube says "Comments are turned off" and "No description has been added to this video". This should not be the case for the majority of videos.

Can be reproduced from a clean profile as follows:

Create clean profile
Open Youtube
Search for / choose any video
Look at description or comments

Comments and descriptions should be visible.

I noticed this issue aswell.
Turning off "enable content blockers" on site specifc settings for youtube seems to fix it. But this will allow ads and trackers. (90% sure here, I use a dns blocker so cannot be sure on that point.)

May be an issue with the lists Orion is using, although I've disabled the content blocking lists personally in the main settings and the issue persists unless you disable content blockers on the site specifcly (or set it as default off for all sites), so unsure what exactly is causing this issue.

I was able to reproduce this on a fresh profile. Luckily, I was able to fix the issue by updating my filter lists:

Could you check whether this solves the issue for you as well?

laiz I also have the same issue, and updating my filter list did not change anything for me. I would like to also add that, for me it doesn't happen on every video but around 80% of the time.

laiz Just updated them, but doesn't look like it fixed it unfortunately, even on a new clean profile.

Same with me @fdav, it happens 80–90% of the time.

Thank you for the follow-up. The team has some YouTube-specific ad-blocking updates coming soon, hopefully those will address these issues as well.

Same issue for me. Almost every YouTube video says description and comments have been turned off, which is not the case when I check other browsers.
