Recently I regularly ran into an issue where the URL I copied from a website did not align with the website that was opened at the time. I realized that this is related to cmd-clicking links to open them in a new tab.
So it goes as follows:
- Have a website open
- cmd+click any link to open it in a new tab
- Go to the new tab, the new website is opened as expected
- Go back to the previous tab, this one now also shows the link that was opened in the new tab, while showing the same website as before.
Notably the link in the url resets to the correct url when reloading the original website.
I am using the built in content-blocker and "YouTube No Translation" which should not lead to this issue I think
The url of the original tab should not change when cmd-clicking a link to open it in a new tab.
