Back and forward gesture on instagram

On version 1.4.7 (1) (WebKit 8623.1.14.10.9) the back and forward gesture are way too sensitive. On Instagram it regularly happens that I swipe the images in the middle of the screen, that the browser initiates a back/forward gesture

Just to be sure, has this always been an issue, or is it a recent change?

I think the issue is coming from Instagram.
I’m using the native version, and very often (this started a few weeks ago), when I swipe on a carousel, it switches (scroll into other) modes instead. Very annoying.

Let me know if you notice this annoying behavior on other sites please.
