When closing a tab other than the active tab, I expect the active tab to remain unchanged. Instead, the active tab often changes.

In the video, I have the Wikipedia tab open and close the BBC tab. I expect the Wikipedia tab to remain open, but instead the active tab switches up to NPR. Then I close the Wikipedia tab, which switches the active tab again.
I haven’t quite figured out the exact pattern when this occurs, but it is very frequent, and can occur when closing tabs above or below the active tab. In fact, it’s so frequent that I really need to figure out when this issue doesn’t occur, which does happen sometimes.
I am on Orion 1.4.3 on iOS 26.1, but this issue has been occurring about as long as I’ve been using Orion (about a year). I have no extensions installed.
Closing a tab other than the active tab should not change the active tab. (Obviously closing the active tab requires a change since it no longer exists 🙂)
