Gnome 48 dependency

Attempting to install the Flatpak file results in:

error: The application com.kagi.OrionGtk/x86_64/master requires the runtime org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/48 which was not found

Due to this dependency distributions like PopOS, currently running Gnome 42, are unable to install the browser.

Browser to be installed on PopOS Linux distribution.

PopOS 22.04

I installed the dependency to move forward:
flatpak install --user org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/48

Exclude --user if you're installing system-wide (requires root permissions).

My guess is something similar happens when installing via Discover (KDE), or the Gnome variant, and it tells you it'll install additional runtime(s)/dependencies.

I wasn't sure if this would cause issues, but it all seems fine.

To confirm:

flatpak install --user org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/48

Followed by:

flatpak install --user oriongtk.alpha.external.flatpak

Did the trick and installed it 🙂

on my arch install, I used the command

flatpak install oriongtk.alpha.external.flatpak

and it found the extra dependencies and asked me if I wanted to install those as well, so it worked all at once.

For me, I had no error with the installation, but upon launching the flatpak and attempting to visit a web site, it would crash. Seeing this issue here led me to installing org.gnome.Platform/x86_64/48, after which no more crash.

OS: Fedora 43 KDE
