The Language setting is set to "Deutsch - German" (not my locale) and cannot be changed

I've installed an alpha build of Orion for Linux. In the Settings dialog, there is a Language preference, and it shows "Deutsch - German" as its value. When I change it to English and re-open the Settings dialog, my changes are not persisted. At the same time, the UI is actually in English.

The Language setting should default to the user's system locale, which is not German in my case. I suspect that it relies on GeoIP instead?
Users' changes to this preference though get applied and persisted.

This also seems to be an issue for at least some of the other settings. I'm having the same issue with the appearance setting trying to change to dark mode.
