When using Google Meet in the Orion browser, my external audio interface (Focusrite Scarlett Solo) does not appear in the list of available microphones. As a result, I cannot select it and Google Meet cannot access my microphone input.
I join a Google Meet call, open the settings menu (“Audio”), and the Scarlett Solo interface should appear as an input device. Instead, Google Meet only shows built-in microphone options.
Steps to reproduce:
- Connect a Focusrite Scarlett Solo USB audio interface to the Mac.
- Make sure it is selected and working correctly in macOS System Settings > Sound > Input.
- Open Orion and go to https://meet.google.com
- Join or start a meeting.
- Open the Audio settings.
- Observe that “Scarlett Solo” does not appear in the microphone list.
-
Notes:
The Scarlett Solo works normally in macOS and in other browsers (Safari, Chrome).
This only happens in Orion.
I expected Google Meet to correctly list and allow selection of my external audio interface (Scarlett Solo) as a microphone input, just like in Safari and Chrome.
Google Meet should be able to access my microphone so I can use it during video calls.
