Hierarchy of tabs is destroyed on relaunch

The hierarchy of tabs (tabs contained within/under another tab) is flattened upon quit and relaunch
All of my tabs are vertical. One browser has lots of tabs (600, nearly all inactive); another has about 30. Problem begins with latest update.

Also, for a long time now tabs will rearrange themselves between named windows.

happens with:
Version 0.99.138-beta (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2)
Build date November 18, 2025
iMac (macOS Big Sur 11.7.10 build 20G1427)

also with:
Version 0.99.138-rc (WebKit 619.1.11.111.2)
Build date November 17, 2025

Haven't tried on Safari because no hierarchy exists

expected tabs to remain the same as when application was quit

Alchi I would suggest not.

This has only happened to me for the last release and I do have many other vertical tab problems.

This looks like a bug introduced in the last release and happens every time.
It is also a different issue - only your last entry after the new release shows the exact same issue.

Better to have one bug and not get confused.

Yes the tab implementation is broken in many ways but better have one that is obvous to fix first.

Last release tabs tree are completely unusable so fix is crucial.
