Orion toolbar color scheme does not match that of the actual color scheme

As the image depicts, the toolbar is white when the color scheme is set to dark.
When the color scheme is set to light, the toolbar remains white, which is good.

Expected functionality:
The orion toolbar reflects the color scheme of the operating system when no tabs are focused to override its color.

I am having the same issue. I suspect it has to do with the system color scheme changing from light to dark or vice versa. I can solve the problem by restarting Orion.

Hey folks, thank you for reporting this. We have already fixed this internally, this should be out with the next release soon.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

In macOS system settings, set Appearance → Appearance (Theme) → Auto
In Orion settings, Appearance → Theme → System
In Orion settings, make sure General → New Tabs open with: is set to Start Page
Keep Orion open, and wait for sundown so the automatic theme change is triggered
Open a new tab
Look at the toolbar
Relaunch Orion and the toolbar is now correctly themed.

Expected behavior:
Orion's theme should correctly adapt to the automatic system theme changes.

I had the browser set to use whatever mode the Mac OS was set to. When the OS switches to dark mode the text in the URL is invisible. If I click in the URL space the text is visible so long as it is selected but new text is not visible.

If I change the browser to Light Mode it works as it should with dark text on a light background.

Normall I expect to see the address of the current page displayed.

When macOS switches from light mode to dark mode, or vice versa, the toolbar UI fails to adapt properly and ends up in some bizarre state that seems to be partly dark and partly light at the same time. The above screenshot is of a window that was opened in dark mode after the system has switched to light mode.

When this happens the solution seems to be to just quit Orion and re-launch. Apologies if this has already been reported but I couldn’t see any existing issue that referenced this exact behavior.

The UI should look exactly the same as if the window had been opened in the current system appearance.

This happened to me just now. The address field text switched from light to dark, but the background stayed dark, so the text became nearly invisible.

It's very easy to reproduce this bug manually: in System Settings > Appearance, switch Appearance between Light and Dark.

Whilst the latest update has mercifully fixed the failure of the toolbar UI to properly adapt when the system appearance changes, the address bar autocomplete menu still appears to be broken. I launched Orion whilst my system was using light appearance, now that it’s changed to dark appearance the address bar menu still seems to be using light mode:
