Close Tabs and Clear Data doesn't always remove website data

I expect Clear Data to remove cookies and cache.

Could you give me more information about what data wasn't fully removed?
If you could provide screenshots, or even screen capture videos, this would help a lot debug this issue.
Alternatively, if you notice this issue happens with specific websites, please share the URLs so we can attempt at reproducing the issue.

Well, you can clear the data from the little pop-up menu and then go to Privacy > Websites Data and see items with cookies and cache. It appears to be only bookmarked data. I suspect the app is generating new cookies and cache from bookmarked websites as it aggressively saves icons.

Close Tabs and Clear Data from the main menu is totally not deleting website data...

Close Tabs and Clear Data from the main menu.
Go to Menu > Settings > Privacy > Manage websites data. Data still exists.

Hi frank, sorry I should have been more specific. I meant to ask you which specific website data (which websites) you see in Settings > Privacy > Manage websites even though you have just cleared the data with the 🗑️ button?

It is possible that, as you "Close Tabs and Clear Data", then the start page is presented, the app fetches the favicons anew to populate the start page, hence populating website data almost instantly for a few websites.

Please let me know if you see a correlation between website data and tiles displayed on your start page.
