MacOS Tahoe - Title bar and Tab bar become transparent with multiple tabs

When a tab is opened in the background (i.e. right click on a link and select Open Link in New Tab) the scroll area begins at the top of the window rather than at the bottom of the toolbar UI, thereby cutting off the top of the web page. This behavior does not occur when a link is opened in the same tab.

The scroll area should be offset so that it begins underneath the toolbar.

Also happening to me. The workaround is to double-tab Cmd-Shift-B, which toggles the bookmarks bar and forces Orion to recalculate.

When a tab loads behind the visible tab and then I switch to it, the top part of the Orion window (incluidng navigation buttons, URL bar, bookmarks bar, etc) is completely transparent. The functions in that part of the window do appear to operate correctly, but are very difficult to read due to the page content showing up behind them. Reloading the page corrects the issue.

I expect the window to render the same whether it is for the visible/frontmost tab or behind the one that is visible.

Hey thanks for the report @relics-HELPER-emerging. I've tried to reproduce this, but wasn't able to. Can you please describe in more detail what you mean by "When a tab loads behind the visible tab and then I switch to it"? I tried multiple different ways to reproduce this, but wasn't able to.

@gdev152 from your screenshot, it looks like the content under the toolbar looks fine (i.e. the toolbar on top does have a background). Are you referring to the sidebar background? (If not, please share a screen recording - that would really help).

The sidebar background is what is the issue, when creating a new window it defaults to this width and hides the content behind the sidebar, when I shrink the width of the side bar and then expand it again the content is no longer hidden behind the sidebar.

Two ways that reproduce this consistently for me:

Clicking on a tab folder and selecting "Open in New Tabs." The front tab loads correctly, but the subsequent ones that have loaded in the background all have this problem.
Right-click a link and select "Open Link in New Tab." The tab that loads behind the current one with the linked URL has this problem.

Once I refresh the affcted page, it loads correctly, with just a slight transparency of the top of the window so that content is very slightly visible behind.

Same issue is also reported here: https://orionfeedback.org/d/12249-top-of-page-is-cut-off-by-toolbar-when-opened-in-a-background-tab and includes a video of a clear repro. Happens to me 100% of background page loads (let the tab load before switching to it).

When a new tab opens in the background, the control bar, tab, and bookmark bars appear completely transparent, making them unusable. This only occurs when the page loads in the background; if Orion is set to switch to new tabs as they open, or if you reload the tab, the page loads correctly.

Expected control bar, tab, and bookmark to remain solid, as they do when an active tab loads.

Same here. Also resolved when toggling display Show Bookmarks Bar and Hide Bookmarks Bar.

+1 same here. Will have to try the tricks for resolving it—I've been reloading pages which is not ideal.

On 26.1 RC it overspills into toolbar as well, but only when System Settings -> Appearance -> Liquid Glass is set to "Tinted". This setting does not exist in 26.0.1 and it "defaults" to "Clear". When I set it back to Clear, overspilling to toolbar ended.

^ Looks like I spoke too soon. This was fixed for macOS 26.0.1, however something changed in how macOS 26.1 handles colors, and it caused this issue to re-appear for macOS 26.1.
