Summarize Page Extension doesn't work

When I open a page in The New York Times + click on the Summarizer Extension, a page opens on the right, but it never loads. It just keeps spinning. I don't have that extension on Safari.

The page never loads.

Pamala Do you reproduce this in Compatibility Mode, or on a clean profile? Also curious if network speed is affecting the loading or not.

It's not in a compatability mode. I'm using the newest Tahoe, 26.0.1. My network speed is not a problem.

Summarize Page has stopped working for me since day before yesterday.

I visited https://www.citationneeded.news/issue-100/ (for example) in Orion and then ran 'Summarize Page' from the three-dot menu at upper right. A spinner appears for about 8 seconds and then I get only text saying "Unable to load summary". The same thing happens for both the Summary and Key Moments types. I don't see any messages appearing in the browser console. I've only tried with Orion 1.0.3 on macOS 15.7.3. The summary feature has worked fine for me in the past on many sites. I'm not using a VPN. I have "enabled content blockers" disabled for the visted site. I just tried a summary again after enabling compatability mode, and it fails the same way.

I expected the summarizer to produce a one-paragraph summary of the current page. Instead I got only a "Unable to load summary" message in its place.

The page summarizer has also stopped working for me. My symptoms: Invoke the summarizer through the right-click context menu; the summarizer window opens, with the spinny-thing blinking brifly in then out; I'm left with a blank summarizer window; I try the drop-down settings and click on the yellow [Summarize page] button — still nothing.

Basically, the page summarizer does everything except generate and display a page summary.

I am logged in at kagi.com at the time of these failures. If I request a summary of the same site via https://kagi.com/summarizer?target_language=&summary=takeaway&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.citationneeded.news%2Fissue-100%2F, that works fine.

Hi everyone,

the "summarize page" feature hasn't been working for several days. I display a blank page. I think it's a browser-related issue rather than a Kagi one. I used the Kagi summarizer on Vivaldi and it works.

Please, just help me to have the summarize page feture back.

Fabio Sorry guys, I pay 10$ every month for Kagi, and the main reason I do it is the "Summarize Page" feature which is essential for my job. I see that Kagi is improving day by day adding new features, and Orion as well is much more stable than in the past, but if you follow a path "pay for the service" (which I agree), I want the service for what I'm paying for.
And in addition to that, when I flag a problem I don't expect you solve the issue in five minutes, but I expect a signal from your side that you're working on it.

Fabio I have same problem on my end.
It doesn't work on desktop and on mobile (iPhone) for me. Just doesn't load any summary.
I'm on currently latest version of Orion and MacOS/iPhone.

Worth mentioning that summary through mobile Summarizer app does work. So it's only the Browser one that broke.

tried in italian and english, a blank page in right column appears.
tried log out - log in in my paid kagi account
tried switch off extension

no summary appears.
